In some cases, ASQA is empowered to approve transition periods longer than those detailed in Clauses 1.26 (a), (b) and (c) of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015.
In accordance with the Guidance for Providers – Learner Transition, ASQA considers transition requests, where it can be demonstrated that there would be genuine disadvantage to a cohort of learners, if such an extension was not approved.
ASQA has recently approved an extended transition period for the qualification PSP40116 Certificate IV in Government, for RTO 47026 TAFE SA only and for a specific cohort of students, specifically South Australia Police (SAPOL) students enrolled on or before the July 2022 cadet intake.
The extended training, assessment and certification issuance period for this qualification ends on 31 July 2023.
The decision to extend the transition end date for this qualification was supported by the Skills IQ and the Government of South Australia, Department of Education.
ASQA consulted with the VRQA and TAC WA for this extended transition request.
This qualification will remain on this providers scope of registration until the end of the approved extended transition period date.
