More Queensland schools will host pop-up vaccine clinics over the People’s Long Weekend.
Twelve state and non-state schools will host hubs from today until Sunday, giving local communities easy access to the vaccine.
Education Minister Grace Grace said the focus was on areas with low vaccination uptake.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for our school communities to access the vaccine, that’s why these clinics will be open during school hours, after school and on the long weekend,” she said.
“These clinics are based in target areas where we need to lift the vaccination rates.
“They’ve been set up following our successful Super Saturday school vaccination blitz where more than 100 schools hosted pop-up clinics.
“Of the more than 13,500 people who were vaxxed at these hubs, 86% received their first dose.
“We need to keep this momentum going.
“We hope that many of Queensland’s students aged 12 and over, their families, their neighbours, and friends, will come forward and get vaccinated at these 12 clinics to protect themselves and their community.
“Thank you to all those schools who are supporting Queensland’s vaccination efforts.”

- Kutta Mulla Gorrina Special Assistance School
- Emerald State High School
- Laidley State High School
- Deception Bay State High School
- Woodridge State High School
- Browns Plains State High School
- Rockhampton Grammar School
- Kingston State College
- Pindi Pindi State School
- Mackay Northern Beaches State High School
- Bloomsbury Primary School
