Eye in the sky nabs speeding rider, South Australia

A man has been arrested after being caught riding a motorcycle at nearly twice the speed limit in the early hours of this morning.

Police will allege that just after midnight on Friday, 16 November the police helicopter (PolAir) was airborne when the officers spotted a Honda motorcycle travelling at high speed on Brighton Road, Glenelg.

The Honda was tracked by PolAir as it travelled along Lonsdale Highway at Sheidow Park, reaching speeds of 158km/h in an 80km/h zone.

PolAir crews directed patrols to the rider’s home address at Morphett Vale where he was arrested.

The 21-year-old man was charged with driving at a dangerous speed and driving unlicenced. He was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 20 December.
