A 42-year-old man has been arrested, charged and refused bail after failing to comply with a COVID self-quarantine direction upon arriving in Western Australia.
The man was granted approval to enter Western Australia for work purposes via the G2G Pass system. He arrived at Perth Airport on Monday 16 November 2020 on a flight from South Australia, and was issued a direction to self-quarantine for a period of 14 days.

About 9:45pm last night a member of the public contacted WA Police Force to report a man at a licensed venue on Lake Street, Northbridge, was claiming he was meant to be in self-quarantine for 14 days. Police attended the scene and located the man. Upon establishing his identity, and confirming his self-quarantine status, he was arrested and taken to the Perth Watch House.
A 42-year-old man has been charged with ‘Failed to Comply with a Direction’. He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, Sunday 29 November 2020.
