Fail to comply with direction – charges

Busselton Police have charged a 25-year-old woman after she allegedly breached the Emergency Management Act.

The woman attended the Mess Hall event in North Perth on Sunday, 19 December 2021 and was subsequently notified on 23 December 2021 by the Department of Health the requirement to isolate until she received a negative result COIVD test.

It is alleged woman purchased fast food through a drive-thru outlet before going for a COVID test and results are pending.

On 24 December 2021 the woman was advised by the Department of Health that she was a close contact for a positive COVID case and was required to continue to isolate. It is alleged the woman then travelled to Yallingup Beach in breach of a direction.

Police officers advised the woman she was in breach of her isolation directions and as of 5pm on 24 December 2021 the woman was waiting on the outcome of her COVID test results.

The 25-year-old woman from Beaconsfield has been summonsed to appear in court at a later date on the offence of two counts of Fail to Comply with a Direction (Emergency Management Act 2005).
