Falsification of preliminary breath tests: Victoria Police releases investigation report

Victoria Police has today made public the report resulting from the independent investigation into the falsification of preliminary breath tests (PBTs) by Victoria Police officers.

The investigation, undertaken last year, was led by former Chief Commissioner Neil Comrie AO APM.

The executive summary and recommendations were publicly released earlier this year. The decision to today release the 117 page report aims to ensure community confidence in the investigation.

The report has been redacted in parts to protect member confidentiality and operational methodology.

Victoria Police has accepted all of the recommendations made by Neil Comrie. Victoria Police continues to work with government, the TAC and other road safety partners to review current arrangements and strategies for PBTs and to ensure the integrity of Victoria’s roadside testing regime.
