A truck driver has died after a single vehicle crash in the state’s Riverina region.
About 12.45pm today (Tuesday 12 December 2023), a garbage truck was travelling west on Fernadale Road, Rand – located approximately 65km northwest of Albury and approximately 3km west of Mile Road – when the truck left the roadway and rolled onto its roof.
The driver – a woman believed to be aged in her 50s – was trapped inside the vehicle upon the arrival of emergency services.
She was released however pronounced deceased at the scene. She is yet to be formally identified.
Officers from Murray River Police District attended and established a crime scene.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
