As stated by Detective Senior Sergeant Hayden Smale, Otago Police:
One person has died after a house fire in Dunedin today.
Emergency services were called to the Loyalty Street address at about 11am.
The body of a person was discovered inside the address.
Police will remain on scene overnight and a scene examination will take place tomorrow.
