Fatal pedestrian crash at Grafton, NSW

A man has died after he was hit by a car in the state’s north last night.

Just before 8pm (Saturday 15 October 2022), emergency services responded to reports a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on Oliver Street, Grafton.

The 71-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious head injuries and taken to Grafton Base Hospital. He was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition where he later died.

The driver of the vehicle – a 58-year-old woman – was uninjured and taken to Grafton Base Hospital for mandatory testing. She is assisting police with inquiries.
