Fatal pedestrian crash at Petersham, NSW

A man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Sydney’s Inner West yesterday.

About 8.30pm (Sunday 11 April 2021), emergency services were called to Livingstone Road near Addison Road, Petersham, after reports a man had been struck by a Toyota Corolla.

The man was treated by police and NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged 54.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

The driver of the Toyota– a 79-year-old man – was uninjured and returned a negative roadside breath test before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for mandatory testing.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
