Fatal pedestrian crash in Sydney’s south west

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal pedestrian crash in Sydney’s south west today.

About 10.40am (Thursday 28 July 2022), emergency services were called to Parramatta Road, Ashfield, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

The pedestrian – a 71-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he could not be revived and died at the scene.

The driver – an 89-year-old man – was not injured and was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
