Fatal pedestrian incident at Tugun, QLD

Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian incident at Tugun this morning.

At 7:50am a 94-year-old Tugan woman was walking across Boyd Street in Tugun.

While crossing the street, the woman was struck by a vehicle.

The driver stopped and called emergency services who treated the woman for a serious head injury at the scene.

She was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased at 11:30am.

The 56-year-old NSW man who was driving the car was not physically injured.

Forensic Crash Unit officers will investigate.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dash cam vision from the area to come forward.
