Fatal police involved shooting in Dakabin, QLD

Investigations continue after a man was fatally shot by police at a Dakabin address overnight.

Preliminary information indicates around midnight police were called to an incident involving a disturbance between a man and a woman at a Surround Street residence.

Upon arrival police were confronted by the man who was allegedly armed with knives.

One officer deployed their taser but it was ineffective, as a result a number of shots were fired, striking the man.

Despite first aid being administered, the 27-year-old man died at the scene.

No one else was injured as a result.

Ethical Standards Command is over-viewing the incident and investigations are continuing.
