Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Melbourne’s CBD this morning.
Emergency services were called to Bourke Street about 5.45am following reports of a group of people fighting.
Two men sustained stab wounds and were conveyed to hospital in a critical condition.
One of the men, who is yet to be formally identified, later died in hospital.
The second man remains in hospital.
A 19-year-old Broadmeadows man was arrested at the scene for affray and continues to assist police with their enquiries.
At this stage, no arrests have been made in relation to the homicide.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and Bourke Street remains closed between Elizabeth Street and Queen Street.
