Fatal traffic crash at Pampas, QLD

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at Pampas near Toowoomba this afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate at about 5.10pm, two trucks travelling south on the Gore Highway collided with one another as one of the trucks attempted to turn off the highway onto Gilgai Lane.

A 7-year-old boy who was a passenger in one of the vehicles received critical injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The male drivers of both vehicles were transported to hospital for treatment with one man in a critical condition.

Police are appealing to any members of the public who witnessed the incident or who have relevant dash-cam footage to contact police.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
