The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating a fatal vehicle and pedestrian traffic crash at Point Vernon yesterday evening, 25 August.
Initial investigations indicate that around 6:20pm, a 2001 Subaru Liberty was travelling along Murphy Street before it struck a 31-year-old Point Vernon man.
The man sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
The occupants of the Subaru, a 24-year-old male driver, and a 24-year-old female passenger, both from Eli Waters, did not sustain physical injuries.
Investigations into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing, and officers are appealing to anyone who may have relevant information or vision to come forward.
