Fawkner dad misses three very important zeroes with TattsLotto win

The Lott

Saturday lotto is proudly played across Australia under the brands Gold Lotto, Lotto, TattsLotto and X Lotto, bringing winning moments to players nationwide.

What began as a $1,600 TattsLotto win for a Fawkner dad quickly turned into a $1.6 million surprise, thanks to his son spotting the full prize.

The Melburnian held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4683, drawn Saturday 6 June 2026. Each division one winning entry pocketed $1.6 million.

Coincidentally, in the same TattsLotto draw a Baxter man had the same oversight believing he’d won $1,600, before discovering his prize was actually $1.6 million.

As the winning entry wasn’t registered to The Lott Members Club, we had no way of contacting the ticketholder and had to wait for him to check his ticket and come forward.

“It still hasn’t sunk in!” he laughed.

“It was Saturday night, and I was with my adult kids when I checked my TattsLotto ticket.

‘I turned to them and I said, ‘I’ve won $1,600! Woo-hoo!’.

“Then my son checked the ticket and said, ‘No dad, you’ve won $1.6 million! You’ve won the biggest prize!’. I just kept saying to him, ‘No! I’ve won $1,600!’

“We were all in so much shock. There was a lot of screaming and cheering!

“I’ve always imagined how I’d react to winning the major prize, but when it actually happened, I just went numb!

“I’ve been playing the same lottery numbers for two and a half years. I don’t know why I chose them, but I’ve stuck with them ever since.

“I never thought I’d see the inside of the The Lott building!

“Thank you very much. It’s a nice prize”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his winnings, the generous man said his kids were his top priority.

“I will be mainly helping out my children,” he shared.

“I’ll also buy a small house, but my children are the priority.”

His winning entry was purchased at Moomba Park Authorised Newsagency, 89 Anderson Road, Fawkner.

Moomba Park Authorised Newsagency owner Kevin Liu said he was ecstatic to have sold his eighth division one winning entry in the last 10 years.

“This year is our ten-year anniversary of managing the business since 2016 and this is our 8th division one winning entry sold in last 10 years!” he shared.

“We’re so thrilled to have sold another division one winning entry and our customers have also expressed their excitement in the past week.

“We’ve decorated the store with plenty of balloons and posters to celebrate this amazing milestone.

“We wish our division one winner all the very best with their future!”
