Fawkner Leisure Centre closing its doors

From Friday 7 April, Fawkner Leisure Centre will be closed to undergo a significant $36.8 million redevelopment and reopen for the 2024/25 summer season.

Mayor Angelica Panopoulos and Cr Sue Bolton visited the Centre on its last day of operation, and enjoyed reading messages from visitors and members on the brick wall of the entry way.

From Friday 7 April, Fawkner Leisure Centre will be closed to undergo a significant $36.8 million redevelopment and reopen for the 2024/25 summer season.

The redeveloped Fawkner Leisure Centre will be more accessible, environmentally friendly and provide more options for all ages and abilities to participate in a healthy and active lifestyle.

During the redevelopment, members can maintain their membership and use our other Merri-bek sites – Coburg Leisure Centre, Brunswick Baths, or Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre.
