Fifi found, woman arrested, South Australia

Fifi the Chihuahua has been found by police and a woman arrested over her theft.

A pram containing a dog and a mobile phone was stolen from outside a supermarket in Rundle Mall about 2pm on Tuesday 16 April.

The victim, a Big Issue vendor, had ducked into the supermarket for a couple of minutes and returned to find her belongings gone.

The pram was located a short time later abandoned near the corner of King William Street and North Terrace, however, the small black and white Chihuahua, named Fifi, and phone had been stolen.

Police reviewed CCTV from the area and will allege that a woman was seen carrying the dog tucked under her arm.

Following investigations, Eastern District Police and detectives tonight attended a Richmond address where they located the missing dog and arrested a woman.

The 43-year-old Richmond woman was charged with theft and bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

Police are pleased to report that Fifi has been reunited with her owner.
