Fighting COVID-19 together: Connecting nursing job seekers and employers

As COVID-19 continues to put increased pressure on Australia’s health care services, the Australian College of Nursing (ACN) has opened up its Career Hub Online Portal to help match nurses looking for work with employers urgently seeking frontline staff.

“We have an interesting situation in that resources are, quite rightly, being funnelled towards the COVID-19 battle,” Australian College of Nursing CEO, Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward FACN said.

“One outcome of this is that many talented and experienced nurses, such as those who are part of elective surgery teams or working in community and primary health care, currently find themselves underemployed or without work.”

ACN is making its Career Hub Online Portal available free of charge to health services, including hospitals, and jobseekers.

“The Australian College of Nursing wanted to do its own small part to help address some of the workforce challenges emerging due to the pandemic,” Adjunct Professor Ward said.

“Career Hub is Australia’s largest dedicated nursing job portal, so it is the ideal service through which to help nurses looking for work and those needing our nation’s best health care professionals connect with one another.”

Until the end of May, ACN is offering employers unlimited standard job advertisements free of charge. Free advertisements can be claimed by using the discount code COVID19JOBS.
