Finalists for Study NT International Student Awards announced

To attract more international students to study, live and work in the Northern Territory, the Territory Labor Government supports and provides professional development and growth opportunities – including the NT International Student of the Year Awards.

This week, the finalists for the Study NT International Student Awards have been revealed on the back of record nominations across the award categories and student enrolments across the Territory hitting a record high 4,941.

The awards provide international students an opportunity to be recognised and celebrated, contributing to the well-rounded educational and development experiences students sign up for when choosing the Territory as their study destination.

International students are recognised for academic success, community mindedness and their contribution to the Territory, while local businesses that employ international students are also celebrated.

The five finalists for the 2023 Study NT International Student of the Year Award are:

Asman Tarofder Asharza from Bangladesh, studying at Charles Darwin University (CDU);Daisy Twayana from Nepal, studying at CDU;Victoria Vydra from Argentina, studying at International House Business College;Raymond Chimezie Ukaegbu from Nigeria, studying at CDU; andRaul Montesinos Diaz from Peru, studying at CDU.

The five finalists for the 2023 Study NT International Alumni of the Year Award are:

Dr Elnaz Saki from Iran, graduated from CDU;Siddhartha Gurung from Nepal, graduated from CDU;Rafat Hossain from Bangladesh, graduated from CDU;Rifat Mahmud from Bangladesh, graduated from CDU; andRenu Lama from Nepal, graduated from CDU.

The five finalists for the 2023 Study NT International Student Volunteer of the Year Award are:

Sochima Jennifer Ogo-Okonkwo from Nigeria, studying at Alana Kaye College;Ruobin Zhang from China, studying at CDU;Mondira Roy from Bangladesh, studying at CDU;Deepak Chhetry from India, studying at CDU; andUrszula Bartel from Poland, studying at CDU.

The four finalists for the 2023 Study NT International Student Employer of the Year Award are:

Antonio’s Kitchen; One IT Services; KPMG; and JMJ Disability Service.
