- WA Innovator of the Year awards to be announced in November
The world’s first prosthetic eardrum, a same-day antimicrobial susceptibility test and autonomous solar cleaning robotics are all competing at the WA Innovator of the Year Awards 2023.
This year will see 17 finalists compete for the overall title of WA Innovator of the Year as well as in the following five categories:
- Rio Tinto Growth Innovator of the Year (post-revenue)
- Rio Tinto Emerging Innovator of the Year (pre-revenue)
- Business News ‘Great for the State’ Platinum Award
- Wesfarmers Wellbeing Platinum Award
- Woodside Energy Award for Energy Innovation
Each finalist will undertake a suite of training in pitching, mentoring, digital and social media strategy, as well as receiving legal, intellectual property and accountancy advice.
Last year’s WA Innovator of the Year was Neurotologix, for their creation of a remote patient monitoring device for dizziness and vertigo.
Three months after winning, Neurotologix then received an Accelerating Commercialisation grant from the Federal Government worth over $780,000.
Winners for this year will be announced at an awards ceremony on November 21.
The awards are sponsored by Rio Tinto, Business News, Wesfarmers, Woodside Energy, Griffith Hack, Nexia Australia, Wrays, CERI, Biodesign Australia, Murfett Legal, Moore Australia and PwC.
