Financial Assistance Scheme to help Devonport community

Community groups, clubs and organisations are being encouraged to apply

for financial support through round two of the 2020-2021 Devonport City Council

Financial Assistance Scheme.

Devonport Mayor, Councillor Annette Rockliff said not-for-profit

community organisations and associations may be eligible to apply for up to

$25,000 in funding with COVID-19 Impact Assistance Grants of up to $2,500 also

available.

Cr Rockliff said the Financial Assistance Scheme provided valuable

financial support to help deliver important projects and programs for the

benefit of Devonport residents.

“Community groups, clubs and organisations play a vital role in helping

create a healthier, stronger and more vibrant Devonport community, and this is

one way in which Council can assist them undertake their important work” Cr

Rockliff said.

“A range of grants are available for not-for-profit community

organisations and groups to help them to deliver community projects, events, infrastructure

projects, and purchase equipment, in addition to individual development grants

and donations.”

Cr Rockliff said Council was particularly keen to support activities

based around community development, culture and heritage, economic development,

sport and recreation and healthy living and learning.

Applications for major and minor grants, and the COVID-19 Impact

Assistance grants are now open and close on Sunday, 28 February.
