Expressions of Interest are invited for suitable contractors to be considered for inclusion on Council’s Fire Prevention Contractor Panel.
The Fire Prevention Contractor Panel is a list of preferred contractors who can perform fire prevention works on behalf of council.
The contractors will provide fire hazard clearance and fuel mitigation works within the Northern Grampians Shire, and ideally will have prior experience performing this type of work. Work may include mowing, slashing, and garden maintenance.
The fire prevention works may be ongoing, so once a contractor is admitted to the panel they may be given further work beyond the 2020-21 Fire Danger Period.
To apply, suitably qualified contractors have until 30 September 2020 to submit an online EOI form at www.ngshire.vic.gov.au/fire
Successful applicants will be notified by 16 October 2020.
Northern Grampians Shire Mayor, Cr Murray Emerson, actively encouraged all suitably qualified contractors to apply to be on the panel.
“If there are businesses in our shire who can perform these works, we want to hear from them,” he said.
“Reducing hazards before and during the fire season is essential to keeping our community safe.”
“This is a terrific opportunity for local businesses to register for ongoing work with council too.”
