Firearm, drugs & cash seized after Major Drug Squad operation

Major Drug Squad detectives have charged a man and a woman as part of their ongoing investigation into an alleged drug trafficking syndicate.

Investigators executed warrants at addresses in Derrimut and Deer Park today when the pair were arrested.

Firearm, cannabis, a large amount of cash and luxury handbags and watches were seized.

A 31-year-old Derrimut man has been charged with traffick commercial quantity of methylamphetamine, traffick commercial quantity of cannabis, possess cannabis, possess a handgun and theft.

A 48-year-old Derrimut woman has been charged with traffick commercial quantity of cannabis, cultivate cannabis, possess cannabis and theft.

Both will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tonight.
