Firearms incident in Glen Waverley

Police are investigating after shots were fired during an aggravated burglary in Glen Waverley last night.

Officers were called to an address on Blackburn Road about 11.15pm after reports a man had attended the premises and firearm was discharged.

The offender also threatened the occupants of the residence with a conducted energy device before leaving.

It is believed he got into white car which was involved in a collision with another vehicle on Blackburn Road.

The offender dumped the car and fled on foot.

Police patrolled the area and arrested a 30-year-old man nearby and recovered the energy device.

He is currently assisting police with their enquires.

At this stage investigators believe that the parties are known to each other.
