Firearms seized during fraud investigation, NSW

Seven firearms have been seized by Oxley Police District officers investigating fraud offences.

Police from Oxley Police District executed a search warrant at a Wee Waa home just before 4.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 27 February 2019), as part as an ongoing fraud investigation.

During a search of the Alma Street home, officers allegedly seized seven unregistered firearms, ammunition, and cannabis.

A 51-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wee Waa Police Station.

He was charged with possess more than three unregistered firearms, one is prohibited/pistol, not keep firearm safely-prohibited firearm, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and possess prohibited drug.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Wee Waa Local Court on Tuesday 26 March 2019.
