First arrest for Patrol Dog Fitzy

Patrol Dog Fitzy has made his first arrest following the completion of his enhanced training capability last Friday.

PD Fitzy and his handler were deployed to assist the Domestic and Family Violence Section and general duties officers in apprehending a wanted high-risk domestic violence offender on Monday.

PD Fitzy was deployed to search a premises in Wulagi where the offender was believed to be. Following an extensive search, PD Fitzy located the 32-year-old male offender hiding under furniture.

The 32-year-old male was apprehended by police and will appear in Darwin Local Court today.

He was charged with:

  • Breach of bail
  • Drive vehicle in a manner dangerous
  • Recklessly endangering serious harm – aggravated
  • Damage to property
  • Make a threat to kill a person
  • Trespass on premises
  • Aggravated assault
  • Unlawful entry – dwelling
