Flinders continues steady rankings climb

Flinders University credits its strong underlying performance in education and research to its continued rise in the 2020 QS rankings.

Flinders has risen 54 positions to 424, up from 478 on the previous year.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Phyllis Tharenou welcomed the result.

“We’ve had a strong focus on quality of research, quality of research outputs, and of course on the quality of the teaching programs that we offer,” Professor Tharenou says.

“We have embarked on an agenda of modernisation to create an innovative, globally competitive and 21st century-ready university that is delivering research which is tackling the challenges of our time, and developing highly skilled graduates equipped with the critical thinking skills to make a difference.”

The University’s efforts are continuing with an additional $100 million investment in research and $100 milion in education over the next five years, along with a $1.5 billion campus expansion investment called Flinders Village which will boost student experience and our research and teaching facilities between now and 2030.

“Our efforts to improve in our underlying performance is reflected in this ranking, and is testament to our dedicated staff who are committed to exceptional research and education,” Professor Tharenou says.
