Flu vaccines – now taking bookings

Influenza (flu) vaccines will be available at Swan Hill Rural City Council’s dedicated flu session on Monday, 22 May – 3pm to 6.30pm.

Council’s Public Health and Regulatory Services Coordinator Trish Ficarra is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated against the flu this year.

“The vaccine is strongly recommended for older people, pregnant women and those who work or live with people at risk, but everyone is being encouraged this year to book in and receive the vaccine.

The vaccine lasts up to one year and helps to avoid illnesses that might arise from the influenza virus.

“Council has a large number of flu vaccines available and bookings are now available via our website” Ms Ficarra said.

Influenza vaccine is free for those aged 65+, from 6 months to under 4 years old, and people with relevant medical conditions. For all other people, the cost is $26 and can be paid via card on the day.

The session will be held at the Swan Hill Town Hall and bookings are essential.
