A Gungahlin woman says concentrating at work will be nearly impossible today after a surprise phone call revealed she’d won more than $649,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The Canberra resident held one of the 10 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4705 on Saturday 22 August 2026. Each division one winning entry pocketed $649,601.50.
When an official from The Lott called to confirm the win, the stunned woman could scarcely believe the news.
“I can’t believe it! Is this real?” she said.
“Thank you so much! I’ve been playing for a longtime. In fact, I’ve been playing these numbers for over a decade!
“They’re all birthday or special dates. I can’t believe it.
“I’m beyond excited but I think I’m in shock. I’m also at work so I’m trying not to scream. I’m not sure how I’ll go focusing after this.
“You have no idea how life-changing this is. The first thing I’m going to do is pay my mortgage.
“It’s not just a huge help to me but also my family. I’ll definitely be helping them.
“I can’t believe it. I just still can’t believe it!”
