Footpath works commencing across Greater Shepparton

Greater Shepparton City Council advises residents of works commencing to improve the network of paths for pedestrians and cyclists in various locations across the municipality.

Works in Shepparton East will see the extension of a recreational path along the Midland Highway from Central Avenue to Cook Drive. These works will begin on Monday 20 May and are expected to be completed by mid-June.

Construction will also commence soon to install a footpath on Andrew Fairley Avenue. This path will improve pedestrian access for staff of the adjacent businesses and students who regularly use this route to school.

These works are part of Council’s “Missing Links” program and focuses on improving the footpath and shared path network throughout the municipality, making for safer continuous access along existing pathways.

Traffic management will be in place whilst contractors are on site and Council advises commuters to be aware of changed conditions during these works and requests that people observe signage and take extra care when commuting in this area.

Other sites where similar works are planned in the coming months include Packham Street and Balaclava Road near the Gowrie Street Primary School.
