A former police officer has been charged after two extendable batons were allegedly located during a search.
About 12.30pm on Wednesday 7 January 2026, police attended a home on Kingfisher Street, Fletcher, to execute a search warrant.
As a result of the search, police allegedly located and seized two police extendable batons.
The man, aged 55, was issued a court attendance notice for possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.
He will appear before Newcastle Local Court on Thursday 23 July 2026.
