Former Princess Margaret Hospital car park lots offer rare opportunity near Subi East

  • Expressions of interest sought to develop the former PMH car park lots
  • Disposal will initiate redevelopment of the site and complement the adjoining Subi East precinct
  • The McGowan Government has announced a rare opportunity to develop the former Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) car park sites.

The car parks are located at 705-707 Murray Street and 18 Cook Street – a short walk from Mueller Park and the new Inner City College.

The Government is determined to see the optimal benefit to the State from this sale, both in terms of financial return and development outcome. Accordingly, submissions will be assessed based on both the purchase price and development intention for the site.

Proponents are invited to submit offers on either the entire 5,600 metre squared site, or one or more of three proposed subdivided lots within the site. This approach will allow a broader range of opportunities to be identified for the site ensuring its future use is maximised.

Funds from the sale will offset anticipated expenditure of the Subi East redevelopment project.

As noted by Lands Minister Ben Wyatt:

“The former Princess Margaret Hospital car parks are an exciting inner city development opportunity neighbouring the Subi East redevelopment precinct.

“Revitalisation of the area surrounding Subi East should complement the precinct, which will create a vibrant education and transit connected community with access to outstanding recreational amenity.

“This is a chance to activate this area for the benefit of the community. I believe with the right developer, this currently underutilised space will find new life.”
