A former teacher will face court today charged as part of investigations into the alleged historic sexual abuse of students at a school in Sydney’s Inner West.
In December 2019, detectives from Lake Illawarra Police District commenced investigations into allegations of sexual and indecent assault at a school in Lilyfield in the late 1960s.
Following extensive investigations, detectives attended a home in Seven Hills on Thursday 5 November 2020, and issued a Future Court Attendance Notice to an 89-year-old man.
He was charged with 13 counts of assault male and commit act of indecency, and three counts of buggery.
Police will allege in court that the man abused four male students, then aged between 10 and 11, at a school in Lilyfield, while he was employed as a teacher at the school.
The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today (Monday 25 January 2021).
