Four injured during brawl, NSW

Police are appealing for information after four people were injured during a brawl in Sydney’s west.

Shortly after 5pm yesterday (Tuesday 25 January 2021), emergency services were called to a reserve on Rose Place, Lalor Park, following reports of a number of people – armed with baseball bats, sticks, metal bars and knives – were fighting.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command were advised that the persons had left the location in vehicles prior to emergency services arriving.

Police secured a crime scene that was later examined by specialist officers.

A short time later a 21-year-old Oakhurst man attended the crime scene with a wound to the head. The man was treated at the location by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Blacktown Hospital with bleeding on the brain.

Officers were also informed that a 16-year-old male had presented to Blacktown Hospital with head injuries and wounds to the chest and right forearm, while another 16-year-old male had been taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital by NSW Ambulance from a home in Lalor Park with a stab wound to the stomach.

As inquiries were being made police were advised that an 18-year-old male – the brother of the 21-year-old man – had requested a NSW Ambulance at his Oakhurst home. He was taken to Blacktown Hospital with facial and head injuries.

Police have established that all four of the males were involved in the brawl and are in serious but stable conditions.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
