Four males sought after liquor store theft, man assaulted in Burwood

Police have released images of three males they believe may be able to assist with inquiries after a stealing at a liquor store, where an employee assaulted at Ashfield at the weekend.

About 9.45pm on Sunday (17 July 2019), three males entered the Liverpool Road store and allegedly stole two bottles of alcohol before running from the shop.

An employee chased the trio to a waiting car where a fourth male approached the man and allegedly punched and kicked him.

The car containing the four males left the scene and police attended.

The injured man was taken to Concord Hospital suffering several fractured ribs and chipped teeth.

Police have released images of three men who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The first man is described as being of African appearance, about 165cm tall, with a solid build and short dreadlocks. He was depicted wearing a red chequered shirt over a blue Nautica brand t shirt with dark pants.

The second male was of a similar appearance and at the time wearing a brown jacket over a dark coloured shirt with patches on the front and dark pants. Both are believed to be aged about 18 years of age.

The third male is also described as being of African appearance, about 175cm tall, with a medium build and medium length hair. He is depicted wearing a blue jumper with light blue jeans and white sneakers.

Police are also searching for a fourth man, who was waiting in the car. He is described as being of African appearance, about 175cm tall, of a large build, and was wearing a black coloured hooded jumper with red wording on the front.

The third and fourth men are believed to be about 20 years of age.
