Four teenagers charged after stolen car driven on train track

Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged four teenagers after an allegedly stolen car was driven on the train track in Thomastown yesterday evening.

Four male teenagers, a 17-year-old from Thomastown, a 17-year-old from Gladstone Park, a 15-year-old from Fawkner and a 15-year-old from Lalor, have all been charged with:

– aggravated home invasion

– aggravated burglary

– armed robbery

– theft of a motor vehicle

– deception offences

– weapons offences

It is alleged a man had been threatened before offenders allegedly stole his wallet in the vicinity of Johnson Street and Lloyd Avenue about 5.20pm on Sunday, 21 August.

As police responded, an allegedly stolen car was seen turning from High Street onto the train tracks.

The car came to a stop and the occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly uncovered a number of weapons.

The four teenagers will appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
