Four to face court over cocaine syndicate in Shire

Four people have been charged with drug supply in Miranda and Liverpool yesterday.

A strike force was established in October 2019 to investigate the ongoing supply of cocaine in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire and CBD with NSW Police identifying a suspected syndicate.

On Friday 6 December, officers stopped a vehicle on Rocky Point Road in Sans Souci and spoke with the driver, a 19-year-old woman. The vehicle and the driver were subsequently searched, with police locating cash on the woman. She was released pending further inquiries.

The vehicle was towed to Sutherland Police Station and further searched. Officers located 50 small plastic bags containing white powder, weighing 39.26g, allegedly hidden in the vehicle, with an estimated potential street value of $14,000.

At 2pm yesterday (Friday 27 December 2019), officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command arrested two men, aged 22 and 26, on Ventura Place in Miranda and seized two vehicles.

When searching the vehicles, police located 38g of cocaine in each car – with a combined estimated potential street value of almost $28,000. Police also found three mobile phones in one car and two in the second.

Officers also executed three search warrants at homes in Miranda and Liverpool, with the assistance of Specialist Tactical Resources, Central Metropolitan Region ODIN and South West Region Regional Enforcement Squad.

When searching a unit on Urunga Parade in Miranda, officers located 138g of cocaine – with an estimated potential street value of $51,700 – and more than $20,000 in cash, allegedly hidden in a drier.

When searching two units on Shepherd Street in Liverpool, officers arrested a 26-year-old woman at one property and a 19-year-old woman at the second. Police also seized six mobile phones and cash.

The 22-year-old woman was charged with two counts of ongoing supply, two counts of supply drug indictable quantity and participate in criminal group.

The 26-year-old man was charged with four counts of supply drug indictable quantity, deal with proceeds and participate in criminal group.

The 19-year-old woman was charged with ongoing supply, two counts of supply drug indictable quantity and participate in criminal group.

The 26-year-old female was charged with two counts of ongoing supply, two counts of supply indicatable quantity, deal with proceeds of crime and direct criminal group.

All four were refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 28 December 2019).
