Fourth man charged over abduction and home invasion at Sans Souci, NSW

Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have charged a fourth man over the alleged kidnapping of another man during a home invasion in Sydney’s south earlier this year.

About 4pm on Wednesday 9 June 2021, officers attached to St George Police Area Command attended a home at Bonney Street, Sans Souci, following reports a man had been abducted.

Police were told a group of men forced their way into the house and confronted the occupants, including a woman and a 44-year-old man.

The man was allegedly then forced into a vehicle outside.

A short time later a car matching the description of the vehicle was located on fire at Bankstown.

A crime scene was established by local police before detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Bennison.

Investigators subsequently located the 44-year-old man in Padstow suffering minor injuries that evening.

So far during the investigation, detectives have charged three men – aged 21, 23 and 24 – over their alleged roles in the incident. All three remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, detectives attended a correctional facility at Silverwater about 10am today (Tuesday 21 December 2021).

A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – weapon, take/detain in company with intent to get advantage occasion actual bodily harm, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

The Cambridge Park man was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Central Local Court via AVL today.

Investigations under Strike Force Bennison are continuing.
