Fourth person charged following woman wounded following affray – Warrawong

A fourth teenager has been charged after a woman was wounded in the state’s Illawarra region overnight.

About 6.30pm (Wednesday 22 November 2023), emergency services were called to Wegit Way, Warrawong, following reports of a brawl.

On arrival, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District located a 39-year-old woman, suffering from stab wounds to her torso.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wollongong Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident commenced.

Earlier today, three female teenagers – aged 13, 14, and 15 – were arrested and charged, they remain before the courts.

Following additional inquiries, officers attended a home in Narellan Vale and executed a search warrant at 8.45am today (Thursday 23 November 2023), where they arrested a 15-year-old girl.

She was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.

She was refused bail to appear at a children’s court today via AVL (Thursday 23 November 2023).
