Fraud and property charges at Bundaberg

Bundaberg detectives have charged a 43-year-old Bundaberg North man with 78 offences relating to breaking into houses and vehicles, and using stolen cards fraudulently.

It will be alleged between October 2022 and the May 2023 the man forced entry to parked cars often by smashing a window and removed handbags and wallets from the cars. It will be further alleged the man stole six vehicles and broke into seven properties during the period in the Bundaberg region. The man has allegedly used bank cards stolen from the cars and properties to purchase goods including gift cards, fuel and vapes.

On the 19th of May, Crimestoppers information led police to a Raines Road at Kolan South address where it will be alleged the man attempted to flee in a stolen vehicle before been arrested by police. A subsequent search of the property located a large amount of stolen property including vehicles.

The 43-year-old Bundaberg North man has been charged with fifty-two counts of fraud, seven counts each of stealing and enter premises, six counts of stealing a vehicle, one count each of possession of a dangerous drug (methylamphetamine), assault occasioning bodily harm, use false registration plates, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, wilful damage and breach of domestic violence order.

He will appear before the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on May 22.
