Free Drone workshops for primary producers

Local primary producers will be able to attend free drone workshops across the Swan Hill municipality in August thanks to a partnership between Council and Business Victoria.

Workshops are designed to demonstrate technology available to enhance current farming practices, and outline current regulations regarding on farm drone use.

Swan Hill Rural City Council Economic Development Coordinator Muriel Scholz said the workshops will provide primary producers with an introduction to field robotics.

“Drones can assist producers in gathering data and save valuable time. These workshops will give farmers in broadacre and irrigated properties an understanding of how drones can realistically aid their farming practices.” she said

Ms Scholz said the workshops will be highly informative and hands on.

“There will be an opportunity for producers to gain real life flying experience,” she said.

“Sessions will be restricted to 15 people per workshop and we encourage people to book in early.”
