Entrepreneurs, start-ups, and new business owners are invited to attend a FREE business networking event to facilitate connections, exchange ideas and build long-lasting relationships.

The Hills Shire Business Connect Event, which is a collaboration between The Hills Shire Council and the Sydney Hills Business Chamber, will take place on Thursday, June 22 at 6pm, at the Council’s Administration Building located at 3 Columbia Court, Norwest.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Peter Gangemi said Council is committed to supporting new businesses.

“One of Council’s highest priorities is supporting local businesses, as they drive our Hills economy as well as local employment,” Mayor Gangemi said.

“We want to ensure our businesses have every opportunity to establish themselves and grow, and our New Business Connector Event provides the perfect opportunity to connect, share ideas, establish partnerships with local networking groups, and access critical resources.

“We are very proud to partner with the Sydney Hills Business Chamber on this wonderful initiative that aims to inspire and equip business owners with the tools and resources they need to survive and thrive.

“This level of support to new businesses is not often found under one roof, so I strongly encourage new business owners to attend.”

Attendees will be introduced to Council’s Economic Development Team, who can provide business support, direction and vital connections with government departments, agencies and other key stakeholders.

They will also be able to help new businesses better understand local, state and federal government business support and connect with key business leaders and local networking groups in The Hills.

Chairman of the Sydney Hills Business Chamber, Kerrie Sheaves, said the event gave business owners the right tools to help them on their business journey.

“With so much overwhelming information, it can be difficult for new businesses to find their way through it all, especially if they are limited on time,” Mrs Sheaves said.

“This event is designed to provide business owners with a simple and easy-to-access forum that provides them with the tools and resources they need to leverage business growth.”

The Hills Shire Business Connect Event is suitable for new business owners who have started a business in the past 12 months and established businesses new to the Hills District.

Bookings are essential, and catering will be provided on the night.
