Four pallets of bottled water have been donated to the City of Swan to help the residents who are doing it tough.

Thanks to a generous donation from Water Corporation, the City will today begin handing out 1.5 litre water bottles to people in need.

Together with Midlas, the City of Swan will reach out to vulnerable community members and ensure they have a healthy supply of bottled water.

City of Swan Mayor Kevin Bailey said it was important to make sure everyone had access to basic human necessities during these tough times.

“Water can be something we take for granted, but right now we need to ensure every single resident is able to access fresh, clean drinking water,” Cr Bailey said.

“In these unprecedented times, some residents have unfortunately lost access to public facilities they rely on so we are very pleased to be able to offer this service.

“The City is very grateful to Water Corporation for its donation and to community organisation Midlas for helping distribute these bottles City-wide. This is just another example of what our resilient and supportive community can achieve when we band together.”

This donation was welcomed by the City of Swan after it was recommended local councils turn off public water fountains to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The City of Swan website and social media provide regular updates on how we are responding to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation.
