French inspired festival returns to Perth

  • Chic French community festival draws large crowds to Subiaco
  • Bonjour Perth Festival supported by the McGowan Government for $20,000
  • Perth festival-goers are set to enjoy a weekend of French food and entertainment with the return of the Bonjour Perth Festival in November at Market Square Park in Subiaco.

    Presented by the WA French Festival Inc, the fifth annual Bonjour Perth Festival is Western Australia’s only French festival that shines a light on the French-speaking world.

    The family-friendly event will run on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 November 2019 and feature the popular French bulldog parade, mouth-watering cooking demonstrations, fashion shows, music and entertainment, as well as more than 100 food, wine, art and market stalls.

    The McGowan Government is supporting the festival with funding of $20,000 through the Office of Multicultural Interests and Lotterywest.

    As stated by Citizenship and Multicultural Interests Minister Paul Papalia:

    “Now in its fifth year, the Bonjour Perth Festival has been a huge success and grown in size and popularity each year.

    “The festival takes its place alongside Perth’s growing list of colourful community events bringing new cultural experiences to the whole community.

    “The Bonjour Perth Festival is an opportunity to indulge in some of the best of French cuisine, as well as experiencing French music, art, fashion and games.

    “I encourage everyone to get out and enjoy Perth’s equivalent of Paris in the springtime.”
