From generous gestures to first-class flights: Henley Beach couple land $1 million in Weekday Windfall

The Lott

A Henley Beach couple are planning the lunch of a lifetime after winning $1 million in last night’s Weekday Windfall draw, with plans to surprise their children by paying off their mortgages.

The Adelaide residents held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4749 on Monday 31 August 2026. They can look forward to a $1 million payday.

Remarkably, the regular players shared although they’d been playing all their life, they had only recently changed their go-to numbers.

“God, almighty! You’re a champion! Isn’t that a life-changer?” the winning husband laughed.

“What a way to start the day. We’ve got goosebumps and tears and all of it. That’s sensational news.

“We’ve been playing all our life, but we only recently changed our numbers to family birthdays.

“We saw it last night, but we didn’t want to get too excited. This is amazing.”

Now $1 million richer, the thrilled parents shared they would generously pay their children’s mortgage off and travel.

“We’ve already decided we’re going to pay our children’s mortgages off. We’re going to see them for lunch and surprise them,” the winning wife said.

“We’re also travellers ourselves so we’ll go on some more holidays. Maybe instead of squeezing into economy, we’ll upgrade our flights!

“Thank you so much. We’re still in complete shock.”

Their winning marked System 7 entry was purchased at South Henley Newsagency, 47 Henley Beach Road, Henley Beach South.
