Fun is free these school holidays at Darwin Waterfront

Get the kids out of the house and down to the Darwin Waterfront these school holidays with an exciting three-week program of free activities offered every weekday from 10am.

The activities include; waterslides, sailing and nippers, soccer, giant bubble play, circus and balloon twisting workshops.

New to this school holiday program are activities with a focus on educating kids on the importance of preserving the environment through reusing, recycling and upcycling. Children can build a city and make their own robots and garden mobiles using upcycled materials.

Also new to the program is ‘sponge bomb wars’ where children can create their own sponge bombs before using them as ammunition to hit targets and each other in a delineated arena.

All activities are targeted towards primary school aged children from 5 to 12 years. The diverse program of activities range from sports to the arts, and enables children to get hands-on and learn new skills.

Parental supervision is required for the nippers program and encouraged for all other activities.

Patrons are reminded to be sun-smart and bring sunscreen, a hat and plenty of drinking water.

An undercover waterproof pavilion has been placed next to the playground and will be used for workshops as well as provide a shady spot for family and friends to rest over the school holiday period.

After the school holiday fun, families can stay a little longer and enjoy a picnic or lunch at a nearby café or restaurant.
