The Cook Labor Government is inviting applications for the 2026-27 Youth Engagement Grants Program, offering local governments and community organisations the chance to share in $220,000.
The 2026-27 Youth Engagement Grants Program will support initiatives that empower Western Australia’s young people by providing opportunities for them to be involved in community life and to have a say in decisions that affect them.
Organisations can receive grants of up to $5,000 for short-term, one-off activities and up to $10,000 for longer-term, strategic initiatives that involve the wider community.
Projects must engage young people aged 10 to 25 and align with the WA Youth Action Plan 2024-2027: Koorlangka Bidi by either establishing and implementing a youth advisory council, or developing and/or implementing a youth strategy or action plan.
In 2025-26, the grants funded 25 organisations to deliver projects that empowered young people, including projects to equip them with life skills, support them to advocate for change, and engage them in positive activities that benefit their communities.
Applications for the 2026-27 Youth Engagement Grants Program open today and close on Tuesday, 10 November 2026.

As stated by Youth Minister Hannah Beazley:
“The Cook Labor Government is committed to making Western Australia a safe and inclusive community by supporting young people’s active involvement.
“Each year, the Youth Engagement Grants Program creates opportunities for young people’s voices to be amplified and their skills to be developed by funding a range of projects across Western Australia.
“I strongly encourage local governments and community organisations to consider applying for these grants and to run a project that empowers the young people in their community.
“I look forward to seeing the projects, action plans, strategies and youth advisory councils that come out of this funding.”
