Further appeal for public assistance after home invasion

Officers from Melbourne Embona continue to appeal for public assistance following an aggravated home invasion which occurred in Collingwood on 20 November.

Investigators have been told five people used a sledgehammer in an attempt to break into an apartment on Harmsworth Street about 3.15am.

One of the offenders attempted to enter through a broken window but was pushed out by one of the occupants.

The offenders fled the scene and police were called.

A grey Volkswagen Amarok which had been seen in the area at the time of the incident and which had been subject of an earlier information appeal was located in Fitzroy North earlier today.

The occupants of the vehicle have yet to be identified and the investigation is ongoing.
